Here Are the Types of Information We Gather

Information You Give Us: We receive and store any information you enter on our Web site or give us in any other way. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our features. We use the information that you provide for such purposes as responding to your requests, and communicating with you.

Automatic Information: We receive and store certain types of information whenever you interact with us. For example, like many Web sites, we use "cookies," and we obtain certain types of information when your Web browser accesses Chronicles of Gor. Although we will not be able to provide you with a personalized experience at Chronicles of Gor if we cannot recognize you, we want you to be aware that these tools exist. We also log IP (Internet Protocol) addresses, or the location of your computer on the Internet, and the date and time of your visit for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. We use the IP address log in an aggregate fashion to track access to our site.

Member Generated Content (Forums, Articles, Artwork and Chats): We offer message boards in our Forums section of the Site for our registered Members. Any information you disclose when posting to a Forum, along with your Member ID, becomes public and may be used by Chronicles of Gor. When you log into the Site, the fact that you are online may become visible to other Members in the "Who's Online" section, in your Profile and under your avatar in any post that you've made to a Forum. When you upload materials to the "Articles" or "Gallery" sections, make a comment on another member's Artwork, or make a post to the Forums, your Member ID may become visible not only to the other Members, but also to non-Members browsing the Site, as may the first few lines of your posts or Articles, although non-Members cannot read more than that, nor can non-Members view any portion of a post that is not at the time they are browsing the most recent post made to a topic or thread. Some Members choose to receive new posts via email, so any post you make to the Forums could be forwarded by another Member to other persons, even though we require in the ToS that they not do so without first obtaining your prior permission.

Live Chats are also hosted on the Site, and any posting to a chat becomes public to other Members as soon as it is published by you online. We archive Chat logs and if we make logs of Chats that you participated in available to the members (such as those of scheduled discussions), the messages you post to such a Chat will be visible to current and future Members, including those who may not also have participated in that Chat. Email Communications: To help us make emails more useful and interesting, we may receive a confirmation when you open email from Chronicles of Gor if your computer supports such capabilities. If you do not want to receive email or other mail from us, please adjust your Member Account, as explained below in "What Choices Do I Have?"


What About Cookies?

Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser.

Does Chronicles of Gor Share the Information It Receives?

Information about our Members is an important part of our ability to provide our Services, and we are not in the business of selling it to others. We do not share our Members' personally identifiable information in any way. However, there could be certain circumstances where we might need to disclose information to other entities, such as if we were required to disclose a Member's information to a third party pursuant to a subpoena or court order or to law enforcement, as required by the law.


How Secure Is Information About Me?

We work to protect the security of your information as much as we can. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.


Special Note on Personal Profiles

After you register with Chronicles of Gor, you are able to create a personal profile with information that you can make accessible to other Chronicles of Gor Members. Your profile may include a variety of information about yourself, including your name, email address, physical location, occupation, or other information such as a photo uploaded as an avatar, a listing of recent posts you have made, or other personal information. Please be aware that Chronicles of Gor does not generally monitor or review the information in your profile and the information that you choose to provide will be publicly accessible to other Members, as well as the date and time of your last visit. Please use caution when deciding on what information to include in your personal profile. Chronicles of Gor will maintain your personal profile on our servers until such time that you delete or modify that personal profile.


What About Third-Party Advertisers and Links to Other Websites?

Our site includes third-party advertising and links to other websites. We do not provide any personally identifiable Member information to these advertisers or third-party websites.


Which of My Information Can I Access?

Chronicles of Gor gives you full access to all the information about your account and your interactions with Chronicles of Gor for the purpose of viewing and updating that information, except such information that is automatically archived and which is available only to the Site Administrators for the purpose of administering the Site, the Terms and Conditions of Use and this Privacy Notice.


What Choices Do I Have?

As discussed above, you can always choose not to provide information, even though it might diminish your access to Chronicles of Gor.

If you do not want to receive most emails from us, in your Profile preferences, select "No" in response to the question "Receive occasional email notices from administrators and moderators?" and choose an option other than email in response to the question "Notification Method: When you monitor e.g. a forum, how would you like to receive notifications of updates?" However, if you do not want to receive notices from us of changes to our Terms and Conditions of Use and other guidelines, policies and conditions, such as this Privacy Notice, those notices and any changes to them will still govern your use of Chronicles of Gor, and it is your responsibility to review them on the Site for any changes.
